I love long stretches of *very* cold weather, when you have nothing else to do but chill with a whole pile of books from the library. Yes… lovely times. Very lovely. :-) {Yes, the National Geographic is mine… no. Curious George is not.} {In case you were wondering…. the Trial is a *very* good book. Read it.} {My family likes books… this is probably less than a quarter of what we checked out that day}
Read MoreLast night my fabulous sister Amy and I stayed up wayyyyy too late [after we said we were going to recover from New Years and family and just the whole winter break in general]. We started crocheting these fabulous headbands [and yes, I know, it sounds like an old person… but *we* make crocheting {cool} haha] Anyway, after we watched lots of crochet tutorials on You Tube [Yay! for You Tube!] and made a few different flowers…. we ended up with these pretty exciting projects… which means you *have* to do a photoshoot. :-) {Mine was getting a little washed out in the sunshine… so here’s a more detailed shot] We had lots of fun shooting… even though it was *freezing* out… so we ended up with some pictures that aren’t exactly of the headbands. haha. [And we’d be happy to make you one of these, in *your* colors for 20$] [And these next three are just me being…. fun I guess]
Read MoreI’m a fan of hats. All kinds of hats, actually, but especially warm hats in the winter. Ones with ear flaps, ones with fur lining, ones with fleece lining.. well you get the point :) [Thanks to my amazing sister Amy for modeling my hat for me… by the way, I love that hat; it’s really warm]

Read MoreThe Cole family has three cute little ones under the age of three. Isabelle just turned 3 on the 24th :-) {Hannah} {Isabelle} {Isaac was such a cutie… only five weeks old, he made me miss little babies in the house!} {Isn’t he precious?} {We got to finish up with some cookies.. yummy :-) }
Read MoreThere’s this girl named Katherine… that I kind of first met online [meaning we were in an online photo class together] and then we *really* met at Photoj [a workshop hosted by IPS] last August. Actually, we were roommates. Since spending that week together we haven’t seen each other in person [unless Skype counts ;) lol] but we kept in touch. I’ve been following her blog, and lately I’ve been super impressed by the stories she is posting. Well… she *did* get to go to New Zealand with IPS, and those were some amazing stories, which you should check out. But my favorite recent post was this one about a Thanksgiving outreach. There aren’t many words, yet the story is really strong. So you should head over and check out Katherine Alison Photography. ‘Cause it’ll make your life richer. [This is the sadly the only picture we have together, but it brings back good memories! :) The end of 60 hours of intense photography training in five days…. apparently your brain doesn’t think straight anymore. haha!]
Read MoreAnother reason I love winter? Waking up to fresh snowfalls. There’s nothing like it. It reminds when I was about six, and I had this lovely red flannel nighty, and I’d wake up and run downstairs. I’d sit on the heat vent in front of the sliding glass door, put my skirt over so I could feel the hot air, and I’d look out on the winter wonderland [which is an overused phrase, but it’s what it is.] Although now I’m older and have other responsibilities, I don’t wear nightys, and we heat with wood, I’ll never cease to be amazed by fresh snow. I realize how awesome and creative our God is when I watch the soft white flakes come floating to cover the ground.
Read MoreAnd though the Lord gives you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore, but your eyes shall see your teachers. Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand, or whenever you turn to the left….. [verses 20-21] “Then He will give the rain for your seed with which you sow the ground, and bread of the increase of the earth; It will be fat and plenteous. In that day your cattle will feed in large pastures.. [verse 23] “There will be on every high mountain and on every high hill, rivers and streams of waters, in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall. Moreover the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the Lord binds up the bruise of His people and heals the stroke of their wound. [verses 25-26] Even though you see the bread of adversity, and in this life it seems like you keep hitting walls, and hard times and adversity, there is a promise! You will *see* your teachers [see the Lord, and the…
