Although all my couples are special to me… this one is just a tad bit more ;) Being best friends with Derek’s two sisters growing up made him feel like my other little brother, and I felt SO honored that he and Kendra gave me the chance to be a special part of their day. Six years ago, a 15 year old Derek stood in his sisters room talking to us. We’d all just been to a mutual friends wedding, and were discussing it. As he stared at himself in the mirror, obsessively combing his hair he said, “I’m never gonna get married. I’d have to love that person more than I love myself to marry them… And I love myself a lot.” Well, despite this barrier, six years later Derek is married… We all know how much he loves himself, so Kendra he must love you an awful lot ;) haha! I love both of you, and it was so special to get to capture the beginning of the “Groebner For Life” story. I can’t wait to see where God brings the two of you. -Kelley

Chad and Stephanie traveled all the way from the other side of South Dakota for their engagement session. Steph is originally from this area, so they are coming back here for their 2016 wedding. Brandon and Scarlett are good friends of mine, and I’ve gotten to watch them fall in love…. So it was really fun to get to hang out and capture the two of them together. She’s graduating in just a few short weeks, and is then off to Concordia Moorhead. She’s a talented musician and was able to earn a music scholarship there as well! When we used to live in Nisswa, my family and the Rabe family belonged to a Bible study together. I haven’t seen most of them in a long time, so I was really excited when Stacy got a hold of me looking for family pictures. We couldn’t have had better weather/light if we had ordered it! The Libi family traveled from around the state to celebrate Grandma and Grandpa Libi’s wedding anniversary and the wonderful “thing they started” (in the words of one of the son-in-laws!) Derek is my other “little brother”. Being best friends with both his sisters while growing up meant I had to put up with him over the years. But despite all the picking on each other we’ve done, I still manage to somewhat get along. ;) When Kendra came along I was so happy that he found the perfect girl that will not only put up with him, but brings out the best side of him! Kendra, Derek is one lucky man to have you! Although I will admit, that you’ve got a pretty great man too. :) When Derek proposed I was secretly dying to take their pictures, and when they asked me to I may have yelled YES PLEASE! Brandon and Emma met while in the military, both of them stationed in AK. But they decided to come back to Emma’s hometown of Staples to celebrate their marriage.
