Ange is one of my best friends. Even though she’s not “technically” my sister, we have the relationship of one. We’re four and half years apart, but she’s totally my kind of girl ;) The last time her and Kara {another sister. haha} were visiting she asked if I’d do a few portraits for her mom. The most recent ones of her that were hanging on the wall were from three years ago. Of course I said yes.. and here is the result of our fun times.

As you give yourself more and more to a life of constant communion with Me, you will find that you simply have not time for worry.” {Jesus Calling, by Sarah Young} I’ve been learning lately that the path that the Lord is choosing for me doesn’t consist of where I am, or where I am going, or where I am living, or what I am doing, or how I am serving Him. Instead, it consists of my relationship with Him. That’s what the “path” is. Walking and talking with Jesus. Listening and obeying. Loving Him. That’s all that matters. And that’s all He wants from us. Too often I get caught up in how *I* think my path should be looking, and the majority of the time I think it involves moving and doing and going. I quickly loose sight of what it really means to walk the path of Christ. Walking and talking with Jesus. Loving Him. That’s all He wants from me. If I am pursuing that then I am on the right path. I’m right where I’m supposed to be. “What can I do for You // What can I bring to You // What kind of song would You like me to sing?…

People were ready to have even their appetites controlled then… we’ve gone on controlling since.“It hasn’t been very good for truth.. but it’s been very good for happiness. One can’t have something for nothing. Happiness has got to be paid for.“You’re paying for it, Mr. Watson – paying because you happen to be too much interested in beauty. I paid for it, because I happened to be too much interested in truth.”{never be willing to give up beauty for comfort; never sacrifice truth for safety.}“What about self-denial then? If you had a God, you’d have a reason for self-denial. You’d have a reason for chastity.” “But chastity means passion, chastity means *neurasthenia. And passion and neurasthenia mean instability. And instability means the end of civilization. You can’t have a lasting civilization without plenty of pleasant vices.”“But God’s the reason for everything noble and fine and heroic. If you had a God…”“My dear young friend, ” said Mustpha Mond, “civilization has absolutely no need of nobility or heroism.. In a properly organized society like ours, nobody has any opportunity for being noble or heroic. Conditions have got to be thoroughly unstable before the occasion can arise.” “But I don’t want comfort. I want God, I want poetry,…
